Get the 13lc if its a good ride. Engine with the lighter flywheel makes the twin quite sporty and a total joy. .

I do agree my 13 seem to handle much better than my 14, both had same light flywheel engine tho !! the heavy flywheel engine it is for old men

Don't bother with headers ! £400 for marginal gain ain't worth it, just get it mapped at hilltop even in stock trim the improvement is money well spent .

BMW UK informed me when my bike went back to the dealer due to it leaking water, the headers on my bike may invalidate my warranty if they felt it contributed to an issue ! As the bike had issues i removed them promptly to void em sticking a marker on my bike, that's what i was told would happen, however what they cant see will not cause you any issues !! these bikes can be temperamental to issues so do not give BMW reason to cause you a lot of grief .

My local dealer also supplied and fitted the headers (for less than Nippy was advertising)

About to trade in a twincam R1200R for a GS TE. Tempted by a low mileage June '13 machine but could get a new 2015(?) bike. Question is, are this years bikes any better/more reliable having had initial bugs ironed out?

Anyone else switched from R1200R to a GS? Love my R but feel a GS, though a little heavier, would be more comfortable and lighter to ride?

I had a 2013 TE and got rid as I thought the first GS' were released too early!

Is R1200R better bike than GS? Very subjective and depends on what you want out of a bike. I'm on my second and the twin cam is superior to the previous model. But I've always had an eye for a GS. Always been a bit intimidated by their size, especially parked on centre stand. But a factory lowered machine looks far more my size! Bars only 10cm wider than R and height from ground about the same! so I have almost convinced myself to change...

I've actually ordered an R1200RS which will be delivered around March next year. I see this bike fit smack bang between the naked R and the heavyweight RT. I took an RT out for the afternoon but I could feel the weight when accelerating and braking -great handling bike though. I had my GS LC at the time and it felt like a Superbike in comparison-similar engine just less weight.
So,I'm hoping for the eager LC motor, the nimble R chassis with a nice looking but effective fairing. What's not to like about that?

My dealer told me to expect mine in March. I'll have to speak to them now as I took my bike there to be "disposed of" on Saturday. I've got other bikes to ride so it's not the end of the world. I hope you're wrong!
