2013 R1200GSA 90th Edition options?

Because over time it sticks and fails, it's really about noise control . Toilets have them to so wonder if the same will happen.

it's a non BMW dealer unfortunately, but I'll negotiate ;)

If the service history is intact and correct it could well be worth putting the bike on an extended BMW warranty. Yes it's expensive but so are these little puppies if they go wrong. My Triple Black GSA comes off warranty in June 15 and if I haven't sold her before then she will certainly go onto bmw extended warranty.

2yrs,the official bmw extended warrenty is worth every penny in my opinion

So what would the collective view on a rough cut over 'miles per year' point be, between going down the extended warranty route at 2 years and taking a chance without ?.

Roy.... Loads of threads on that question you ask.

yes. dealer with warranty. looks immaculate. going for a test ride on Monday. I've only ever ridden a 2014 LC so it'll be interesting. pretty sure I'll buy it. has nice heated Sargent seat too which is a bonus as I think they were £750.

Not long now, not long now LM

Anything I should look out for? it's a 13 plate with full BMWSH so hopefully it's clean. I'm no mechanic so any tips gratefully received.

Should be nicely run in now....mine smoothed out after 10k. I did find on the TC that there were quite a few vibes at 4-5k revs. I had the bike remapped at Hilltop which made a big improvement on this, on/off throttle smoothness and low down torque....cost £300 but well worth the money if you are going to keep for a while.

Only thing really to check is general condition and service stamps....but also do check he oil level...some eat the stuff..otherwise should be fine. On the extended warranty, I have had 5 GSs over about 20 years and the only serious problem I have had is with the rear shock going at 32K on my 08 GSA but this was sorted with a Wilbers replacement. If I had the same issue now I would go the rebuild route for under £200. Other than that no issues.

When I say no issues, my replacement WC GSA has a shocking gear box and the suspension has gone very harsh and the build quality of the components (plastics etc) are definitely of a lower grade....missing the TC!

awesome - many thanks. I notice it's missing the rear hugger / mud slinger thing from the rear wheel - was that an option?

Are you talking about the splash guard that comes off the back of the FD mate? If you are, they are a standard fit on all the 1200 GS's.

Yup, that's a standard fit mate, some people take them off as they say it actually reduces spray, either way though, it's a standard factory fit item, so should be there.

I don't know what it's called - that was the closest description I could come up with. I still don't know what it's called lol
