I know the early LC’s suffered clutch issues.

My ‘64 reg bike suffers with the biting point moving. And real grabby activation when trying to set off.

Is there anything that can be done. Or is it simply they’re all like that?

Cheers.

Wasn’t there some kind of recall on 2013/14 bikes for a modified rod on the clutch , for this issue, remember having it done on my early 2013 GS

For the early 2013 liquid-cooled BMW R1200GS (the "wethead" models up to engine No. 122EN36130280), BMW introduced an official modification to resolve clunky shifting, difficulty finding neutral, and clutch drag. They replaced the original, slightly undersized clutch pushrod (thrust adapter) with a newly designed, slightly longer version. [1, 2, 3]

I have read this online.

Has anyone had actual experience of the above? And the rod fix actually changing anything.

I suppose at the age of/ mileage it could well have been done already at some point.

I had the same a few years ago. Fluid level was high and would make the bite point change.
Took a small amount out and no problem since.
