2014 GS1200LC Engine Bars

I've heard that the frame on the 2014 bikes differs slightly from that of the 2013 bikes.
With this in mind I am wondering if anyone has knowledge of any manufacture who has
already made bars to suit. I would like to fit some asap as I get my bike on the 1st March
which include the upper bars as well.

Same here. I am buying the factory BMW lower bars so they will definitely fit.
I believe the touratech uppers will then fit the bmw lowers.

Bmw engine bars.

Sales guy said there are two different sets for the lc. Two different part codes.

You are probably right, but the Givi ones are over £100 cheaper................. Which kinda helped the decision.

My SW-Motech dealer has set my order on lower / upper crashbar on hold... SW-Motech has no bars on market just now who fit the 2014 GS

Hi, just installed the AlrRider lower engine bars. Super quality, larger diameter stainless than all others and look great. Thoroughly recommend (had on my TB last year too).
Easy fit, exact fitting too.

When I ordered my bars from Motocard in Spain, I'm absolutely positive the advert stated they fitted the 2014 model.

Anyway, the bars have turned up, and all the paperwork states for the 2013 onwards bike..................... March 1st, there could well be some effin and blinding in and around my little workshop....................... Fingers crossed....................

Just asked SW MOTECH if the 2013 GS LC bars would fit 2014 MY, their reply:

Hey Alan,

unfortunately this part doesn’t at the new 2014 R1200GS LC.
We speed up to develop a new one…

Mines a 14 bike pre-change so still as the 2013 frame, well should be. I've just had trouble fitting my lower TT bars, right side fitted fine the left the plastic frame insert would not fit flush at all and would keep popping out. One call to TT and they said yep they had the same issue with a 14 bike and said there had been changes, even to the early 2014 bikes and suggested i place 2x1mm washers under the bottom mount.

Purchased from Altrider in Holland (altrider.eu) but Nippy also has some by now I think.

Just fitted the TT ones to mine, with the upper bars as well.
Look good, and are very substantial so should give good protection,
Engine bars were easy to fit for anyone with basic spannering ability, the most difficult bit was finding the right torx spanner for the frame bolt that needs to be removed to fit the lower bracket.
The upper bars are a bit of a faff as most of the tank bodywork and the beak has to be removed first to fit a mounting bracket, worth it though, just take careful note of bolt length and location, to easy to get them mixed up if you ain't careful.

All in, very happy with then, the stainless finish is great.
