Hello from cold Finland! No biking weather for some months here. I have considered a 2014 watercooled GS and have two questions: 1: Has anybody experience about both the 2013 (without the steering damper) and the 2014 model (with the damper) Does it interfere with the steering on low speeds? 2: Is the clutch/gearbox any better than in the 2013 model (which I test rode and slightly disappointed). Thanks!

Hi mate,

I just picked up a 2014 model and have done 2000k in 2 weeks. I have never had a bike with a steering damper. I cannot tell its there. Regarding the clutch and gearbox, i personally feel, that's how it is. Bit clunky for sure, but all of the bikes I have ever owned always had an issue somewhere. Except for those super boring inline Japanese 4s. Yuk. Took bike up to 150kmph tonight and for sure it feels rough, but its not a bike to be driving at that speed. All the vibrations of previous model, 2011 triple black, have gone. Its now possible to see the Fuzz from the non fuzzy mirrors. Amazing bike, and I believe it has been upgraded sympathetically.

150k mph

Not surprised it felt rough at that speed.......whooooooooooosh! :D:D:D

2013 bike didn't need a steering damper imho.
