2014 Streetguard gurantee?

P Reg - 100,000 miles on the clock, tatty, ratty and rusty... Best not to assume...

I assume nothing might not be much money but you can't say they make sense?

But each to their own or it would be boring

I have a klim latitude arriving in the post later on today, sale or return, but I have been torn between the klim and the SG4, thank goodness I have read this post, the klim comes with a gortex 10 year guaranteed to keep you dry warranty.

Hope it fits nice!

Be careful with the KLIM warranty ,if you read their terms and conditions about the lifetime warranty it is what KLIM themselves deem to be the lifetime of the product due to amount and type of usage.

The goretex guarantee will be against manufacturing defects in the goretex fabric and not the jacket itself. Quite a few unhappy customer reviews in the States regarding KLIM putting fairly obvious manufacturing defects down to rider/user abuse.

Seems to be the only manufacturer that gives a reasonable 5 year guarantee and backs it up in actions are Rukka

Yes the Rukka is fantastic gear, and probably the better warranty but I havent found the suits that I have tried on to be very comfortabke, although I'm well aware that Rukka users love it.

Re. The Klim warranty, maybe now is the time to throw out the question........

Have any UK riders had any problems with their Klim gear and were the problems resolved okay without issues??

Ive just conducted some in-depth testing and analysis of my Streetguard jacket in my laboratory (garage) involving a hosepipe. The sleeves didn't leak at all. I need to take another ride in the rain and see whats going on.

Make sure all your pockets are zipped closed, I went through a 40 minute downpour with my trouser pocket open, consequently I was as wet on the inside as I was on the outside! :comfort

Bear

I think its that stretchy bit under the cuff that lets water through eventually, i ride with long sleeve baselayer and i think water soaks up the sleeve from the cuff. But it takes biblical rain for it to start soaking through.

Never had that

Make sure my gloves are under the cuffs and all is firmly zipped up & extra storm collar is attached

I was coming up from Metz last year towards Bruxelles & you could see the storm clouds approaching, so pulled into an aire - put the storm collar on & waterproof gloves, under cuffs

Rain was so bad - torrential & then some that the motorway was down to 40mph - rode in that for 1 hour & the SG 4 jacket was bone dry

Same has happened with mine, also had water getting into the pockets I thought would be waterproof, including one inside the zip. I thought it was rain getting in the cuff but seems that the stretchy stuff is a weak point and have found the rain doesn't have to be torrential either. Last trip I used it I wore a £20 overjacket. Not impressed with the suit at all. Had no problem with the trousers except that despite being plenty long enough when standing, the ride up when I sit on the bike at barely cover the top of my boots

Rode home from work this morning in the rain, its only a 10 min journey I could feel the rain getting through my trousers and sleeves, by the time I got home and took off my Streetguard my arms and legs were soaked. Torso was dry but that might be because I was wearing my Point Two air vest. Had to hang it up near a radiator to dry the inside out. Such a shame as its an other wise great suit, super comfy and perfect fit.

I shall be visiting Rainbow BMW on Tuesday to try and get the suit exchanged via their 2 yr guarantee, but I feel they will try and wriggle out of it saying I should have reproofed it???

That's weird

In Spain earlier this month, I rode for 3-4 hours of steady rain and I was dry everywhere except my wallet got wet inside the inner breast pocket - but I was dry

For 90 mins at the end of the trip, running into Santander, I had rain of biblical proportions - stayed dry and the wallet in the same pocket was dry this time:nenau

I am having a word with the dealer as the lower edge of the cuffs is pilling badly

Someone told me you can tell which pocket you keep your wallet in due to the lack of wear and tear on the leading edge

On my 2nd replacement and it's going back guess whatImageUploadedByTapatalk1446238449.989917.jpg that's just a 10 minute ride

I hope my Tourshell fairs better than the Streetguards do - it's been ok so far but might get a serious testing in the next few weeks.

Went to the dealers today, told them about my leaking Streetguard suit. They are ordering me a new replacement and I then have to take my suit in and they test it for leaks before giving me the new suit. Not sure how they test it, but it doesn't leak when under the hose pipe, only when riding in rain.
