I've been catching my boot on the exhaust headers which worries me as a fellow member of the parish managed to put a hole through his brand new Revit trousers recently...

Just replaced the exhaust heat shield with the new revised 2015 model. Hilighted area is where I was touching which seems to be covered well by the new cover.

You have to transfer the aluminised adhesive heat shield material across as well as the small rubber caps that sit on the metal tabs that hook into the exhaust, plus a rubber and metal grommet that the bolt goes through to secure it.

Just for info...

saw them in the showroom today - not the nicest looking things.

...but i've also burnt my trews on the exposed pipe.

I honestly don't know how you guys are burning your clothing.....are you all bandy legged or something ? :aidan

Apparently the MD of KTM melted his boots at the 1190R launch. He wasn't impressed...

I'm with Davey on this one. I think yer all clumsey feckers .... :D

I'm quite interested in the 1190R.

Is it worth going for a 2015 model? I'm aware of the airbox issue and gather it hasn't quite been solved as yet. Has KTM updated the centre stand and started motor on the 2015? There are some new discounted 2014's about so maybe a 2014 is the way forward.

Centre stand yes, starter motor not as a pukka recall, but a lot of dealers seem to be doing it for the customers that complain. (Mine hasn't failed to start but next service I'll push for an upgrade .. )
