I posted this on the Super Tenere site today.

ITS GONNA BE 2016 BEFORE WE KNOW IT

Any interest in a early season national meet, planning ahead should give everybody enough time to organise their lives around the more important things such as motorcycling!!!!.

my suggested format
I had in mind to ride to the pre arranged meet point for sometime on the allotted Saturday lunch time/afternoon make acquaintances few drinks and a meal, stay locally overnight and leisurely ride home on the Sunday. open to ideas from anyone interested in attending.

For us East Anglian based owners a meet some where 3 or so hours ride away would be great for an early season ride and should place us central for the majority of owners, (Matlock is my favourite we're off there in 10 days time) but happy to look at any suggestions.

I would be interested in attending, however I did a recent ride to Matlock bath and it was awful. Speed cameras everywhere, and low speed limits on roads that were once national speed limit (60 mph) or 'ding' signs as they were often referred to on driving courses.

How about CMC bikes Clay Cross ?

Yamaha dealer..cafe inside...always loads of bikes on a sunny weekend....

And there's a nice back road to Matlock Bath......

My usual itinerary is up to CMC for a cuppa and a toasted teacake...have a good look round the (huge) shop

Then down to Matlock....free parking and nice Fish & Chips :thumb2

We have been there loads of times never had a problem but not looking to do sprint routes more of a leisurely ride, obvious places like the Cat an Fiddle attract the spots bike boys and hence the enforcers of the law, which is to be expected.
Do not be put off this area get off the main routes head for any of the high roads and villages take your time and enjoy your day.

Like the sound of this Bryn

Sounds good to me.

I'll keep my eye on this thread for further information

We have several respondent's on the Super Tenere site and some good ones on here, so far Matlock looking to be a front runner with suggestions for mid April or mid March as possible dates, more input from more respondents would be welcome, we have plenty of time to discuss this and need to keep the momentum going.

CMC

I go to CMC at least once a month..in the warmer months..Was actually there when the 2015 S10 meet was on. Think theres was about 15 bikes in total. Be good to see alot more there next year!

I'm in.

Things moving forward over on the Super Tenere site April 9th meeting at CMC Clay Cross few miles east of Matlock seems a popular choice.
All welcome the more S10s the better.

Let's hear from some of you guys on here see who's up for this
Welcome any input as to the date and meeting point

We have this thread running on here and on the Super Tenere site so I have basically just copied over the detail below so guys who only use this site can keep up to date, as before all input welcome

Let's keep this thread up there near the top, so keep posting your comments/ideas

So from the recent comments most seem to agree on the 9th April.

SO THATS IT SET 9thAPRIL IT IS

Next what time do we think best to meet, Our group will be meeting somewhere around Norwich so roughly 3 to 3 1/2 hours steady ride could make it to CMC for 10 10.30 with an early start.

Also can we have ideas from the S10 owners in the peaks for a short ride round some good local roads, say we plan to leave CMC 45 min after the allotted arrival time keep the ride route down to an hour or just over allowing us to finish at a suitable lunch stop (my vote would be Matlock Bath for lunch plenty of fast food options) those with a long ride home will probably look to get back on the road around 2.30 3 pm.

Any one intending stopping over for the Saturday night ?

As with previous sujestions all input/personal preferences and ideas welcome , let's hear what you all think.

I assume this is the same meet that is on the super tenere.com forum?

I will sort a ride out from CMC ending at Matlock if that's ok with everyone.

Update

Bit of an up date
copied across from the Tenere site for you guys who might not look in on there.

CMC is on the A61 a half mile north of Clay Cross near Chesterfield

Plan is to meet at CMC 10.30 sharp and leave there 11.15 sharp.

Leave CMC head for Beeley Moor, Chatsworth, Baslow, 13 Bends towards Bakewell, Ashford in the Water, up through Taddington,Chelmorton,Monyash, Newhaven, Via Gelia into Cromford then Matlock Bath.
This would mostly be back roads but twisty but good motoring, missing Bakewell out but doing so means 5-10 mins saved if we are making good or bad time I could add or shorten route.

Over on the Tenere site we are trying to get a feel for numbers so as to let CMC know how many to expect, any one on here who's not on the Tenere site who's thinking they might attend please indicate your interest so I can come up with a final guide figure. not intended to be a cast in stone promise ill be there sort of meet its all about a casual turn up if you fancy it.

1 week away now so hope to see as many of you as possible.

Program will be arrival by 10.30 leave CMC 11.15 for a short ride around local roads (route as planned by Richard Peak Park )to a lunch stop at the Yondermann cafe after lunch short ride down to Matlock Bath for a coffee and disperse for home from there.

Lets hope for some nice weather, those who want to put the routes into their sat nav here is plan leave CMC then through the Villages of Alton, Beeley, look at the Big House (Chatsworth) go towards Baslow but cut back to ride up the 13 Bends A619 towards Bakewell then cut across A6020 to Great Longstone up onto Longstone Edge (Moor Road) and onto the Yonderman for grub.

Then onto Matlock Bath, up through Wardlow, Asford in the Water, (now if we have time, up Taddington on A6 turn off to Chelmorton and back to Monyash if not then) straight to Monyash then the A515 to Newhaven left onto the famous A5012 Via Gellia all the way to Cromford and Matlock Bath.

If we can leave CMC Prompt or better, the extra miles after lunch wont disappoint, so lets not dawdle at CMC or have a dessert at the Yonderman :rob.

Any other local S10 rider who knows the roads i have suggested and would volunteer to be the tail end Charlie, pipe up and be counted, much appreciated.

Any thoughts or suggestions esp from those who have to travel from afar are welcome.
P-P
