2016 triple black?

Where do you buy all this stuff, which site do you recommend ? Looks good especially the air intake grills, I don't understand why BMW don't have this as standard and the RAD guards, who is Mark btw ?
What is helicopter tape and why do you put it on the centre stand ?

Try Nippy Normans web site but be warned its addictive.

Mark is a member on here that has a company called Cymarc that makes good quality bits for the GS

Helicopter tape is a tough see through tap that protects parts of your bike, the centre stand cross bar can rust within a season.

No questions dumb, we all came on here in the first place looking for info

Your as bad as Redrick, like that little voice sat on your shoulder whispering i dare you.

Ok so I might not have been completely honest, ESSENTIAL bits already added

Mudslinger
Crud catcher
Rad Guards (Marks of course)
Grip Puppy's (big hands)
Air intake grilles
Side stand enlarger (Oh er)
Helicopter tape on the centre stand

No more and stop showing me that black Akcro

:nenau

When it comes to farkling, I taught him everything he knows!:P

What would you suggest? always looking for an excuse to spend money on my bike

Ok, here you go.

Essentials:

Nav V
Mudsling
Fender extender
Crud catcher (although you don't really need this if you get the fender extender)
Rad Guards
Side stand enlarger
Helicopter tape on the centre stand

Aesthetics:

Tinted screen
Cymarc black deflector (goes under the screen)
Black Akra
Paint the rad covers & cylinder covers black (speak to TunnerUK)

Other additions, depending on budget/ comfort:

Akra headers
Hilltop remap :hide:D
Bar risers
BMW lowered footpegs

Luggage:

Wunderlich handlebar bag
GSA Top box & rack (looks much better than the vario
An assortment of Kreiga bags (I attach these to the topbox, as I don't like panniers, and never go away for long enough to need them)

I think that's it, but will let you know if I think of other ways you can spend your money!:D

No mention of Touratwat, cylinder guards or beak extension ... Call yourself a Pro Farkler!

Touratch stuff is generally unnecessary tat, and the fastenings are made of cheese. You're right about cylinder guards, so the MAM ones are an essential product. I prefer these to engine bars on the regular GS. The beak extension probably isn't needed on the black bike, but would probably finish the look.:thumb

Ah yes but its a very good cheese :D

may I also add crash bars? Either black, or stainless like mine, as IMHO they look lovely and will look after those blackened heads when and if the bike is ever dropped. Mine are TT (unnecessary tat range...............).

Well one week old and 2k on the clock, bikes bedded in great, word of caution to anyone buying a TB get some pads or venture shield on the tank now, paints thin as fook, especially on the sides. Apart from that hell of a good looking bike.

How did you wear the paint on the tank Roadcraft ? You'd think being a BWM they'd put a few coats on it

Ha ! No, I clearly still have much to learn. I was drawn to BMW bikes as I've had many of their cars over the years and stupidly thought I was buying into the same quality

Both my new Series 3 and X3 were unstoppable, superb paint finish and over the six years only replaced a rear lamp, but business market!

Nothing special just where your legs make contact with the tank, nothing new there but on the TC GS the paint was tough as old boots, two days riding on the TB and paint shagged. Going to try and polish out but don’t think it will.

I'd go show my dealer, that should not happen after just 2 days riding unless you wear brillo pads on the outside of your trousers.

Don't try polishing it out, just get it back to the dealer for some new panels. Why should you have to bugger about? BMW are very good with this sort of thing. They're replacing both seats and the centre stand on my bike this week, as the paint has come off the centre bar, and the seats have imperfections.

Sent the dealer an email whilst in Scotti land

Hi Andy,

Sorry for the delay in replying, however I have been away for a few days.

That paint finish definitely does not look up to standard, it looks to me like a very soft lacquer that is causing the scratches. I have shown the photo to Steve, who would like you to drop the bike in when you are back from Scotland so we can send them through to BMW UK, who will look at the case further.

Kind regards,

Fair play to em, see what they say at the weekend
