I use my clutch and REAR brake when 2 up with luggage and stationary on a hill ,you can set off a lot smoother you know ��I,m only 5ft 8 so hill start assist would be of benefit ,bit of extra security .
I asked at the weekend if the hill assist could be retro fitted but the sales guy didn't know.
If it's a software issue that uses the ABS then I don't see why not, but if extra hardware is involved then it depends on the complexity I guess.
Whatever, I'd like it.
I was told (rightly or wrongly in early 2015 ) by a BMW techie that the hardware for self levelling suspension has been built into the ESA since the lC models came into existance.
I'd asked them why when you pick up a new bike they could not input a customised base map in the bike for the suspension based on actual rider and pillion weight or have onboard sensors like Aprilia managed with a similar set up.
Techie said the shocks themselves already have the sensors built into them but the software was never present in the ECU and had not been developed by BMW.
If this was true then retrofit may actually be possible
