2017 KTM Adventure Range.

I'd kinda hoped the 1290 would have been in SD tune rather than 'just' SA but other than that what's not to like? I prefer the current R colours TBH but the orange/white looks ok (just not as classy) and without the expanse of black makes it look a bit visually smaller?

I'm even warming to the headlight pretty quickly which means by this time tomorrow I'll love it :) It'll certainly look pretty cool coming towards you on the road.

Overall they seem to have delineated between the bikes in the range better than current with less cross over between the bikes and I reckon a 1090R makes great sense and ought to be a good seller if priced similar to 2016 1090's.

Has there been any mention of the 800's?

Andres

These guys can ride

I'm liking the 1290R already. Bit of a gamble ordering one without seeing it ,let alone trying it but KTMs ordering system is ridiculous especially for small dealers like mine. But I'm pleased I did

You won't be disappointed - as you already have tried the SA engine then I predict miles of smiles :beerjug:

No mention of cruise control apart from the T edition.

Looks as tho i may be chopping my GT in for one.

How much ( plus Vat) ££?

No way we will know until at least the NEC show in late November - best hope the £ strengthens a bit between now and then ;)

Me - I will wait a couple of years until KTM do there usual trick of knocking a few grand off once the initial hype has died down :D

More like months I reckon.

Does the new headlight have an intake duct down the middle? Looks like it in some of the pics I saw.

If the 1290R is indeed as ugly as the pics in MCN then I will be cancelling my order !

Looking at the specs for the 1290S here: http://www.1000ps.de/modellnews-3002569-ktm-1290-super-adventure-s-2017

..........and interesting that despite it now having cast wheels the suspension travel has gone up from 190mm on the 1190S to 200mm on the 1290S.
Obviously just using the suspension straight off the current 1290SA so should still be nice and compliant and not too sporty like an S1000XR - I am liking the sound of this one more and more :D

Suspension is provided through fully adjustable WP suspension, with 220mm of travel on both the front and rear, again, as you'd find on the 1190 Adventure R.
KTM claims that the electronic assistance package provided with the 1290 Super Adventure R is “the most sophisticated electronic assistance package on the market”, offering Motorcycle Stability Control (MSC) with lean sensitive ABS and traction control, as well as LED cornering headlights.
As you'd expect, the 1290 Super Adventure R will come with multiple rider modes to suit the conditions in which it's being ridden. In off-road mode, the ABS can be turned off on the rear wheel, leaving it free to lock up while the front retains the anti-locking qualities.Keyless ignition is becoming more and more popular in the motorcycle world, whether you like it or not, and the 1290 Super Adventure R will make full use of the technology. Cruise control looks to be included as standard, while a list of optional extras look set to appeal:

Hill Hold Control
Motor Slip Regulation
Bidirectional Quickshifter (change gears without pulling the clutch in)

Seeing actual pictures and videos-I like it.

Don't expect you to get it with your allegiance to all things bloated, overweight and poorly painted.

But please don't troll this thread too much,as some people may be interested in these new models, unlike you,Mr BMW Brown Noser

They have to be at least the same price as the Superduke GT, but I'm guessing they will be more with the ever decreasing value of the £ against the €..... Which will make all European bikes more expensive next year......and Japanese ones as well with the ¥ ☹️
I'm curently deciding between two quite different bikes : an 1190S with £1000- off and free luggage or an MT10.....on the off chance I can get one in December.
Looking for character, fun, comfort. Both offer this in different ways 🤔 If I wait until Feb/March 2017 my Z1000SX will be worth even less and the new bikes will cost even more.......😥

I'm liking the 6" TFT screen with phone connection etc. Should let you use Google maps for example.

Seems great right up until the point I realise my phone has a 5.75" screen so including bezels its probably the same size as my phone. Same as the ducati, way too small unless they have very little information in it. When I was thinking about buying the multi I thought the screen looked brilliant in the pictures. Then I saw it for real..........
