2017 R1200GS TE Alarm oddity

Evenin' all

Just asking here before I take this back to the dealer. Had the bike for about 6 months, circa 7500 miles on the clock.
I'm having a weird issue with the alarm. After I shut the bike off, 30 seconds later the indicators flash as expected, however... if I move the bike, try to start it (with the keys not nearby) the bike does nothing... I get the flash of the red light on the dash but that's just about it.

Any ideas as to what this could be, it's driving me nuts, basically have a pointless alarm fitted by the sounds of it! :(

I've noticed this with mine. As an example sometimes it goes off if I spin the front wheel when cleaning the bike but bizarrely nothing if I take it off the centre stand.

Did it do anything different before or have you just noticed this.
 
I've got the same. I can take if off the main stand and put it back in the garage without the alarm going off.
On my 2015 gsa the alarm would have gone off.
I assume the alarm isn't set up properly by the dealer, not discussed it yet with them.

Yeah, I only just noticed it not working recently as my Disk locks batteries have died. I got on the bike without the key, realised my disc locks didn't go off, but then subsequently realised the alarm didn't go off.

I tested this some more, to the point I can literally shunt the bike up onto the centre stand without the alarm actually going off...

Needs to go back to be setup properly me thinks, alarm sensors
 
Mine goes off quite easily .... to the point if I am cleaning it I have to disable it on the clocks ..
 
Mine's a 2016 TE alarm was working fine but it has also stopped but like you say flashing light on clocks. Weird.:nenau
 
i often arm mine accidently, when getting the keys out,

Only to have it scream its tits off as i put it away lol

Maybe it was disabled (as mine was) by the dealer during a service? Mine was the exact same until DWA (I think?) was enabled under Setup.

Turned mine off as it's been going off and haven't had time to revisit the dealer just yet and today it went off. Seriously weird...
 
If DWA is on under settings then I would say it's worth changing the batteries in the alarm unit itself - easy job

Mate of mine has his Rallye for three months, said his alarm had not gone off despite moving the bike with no keys, I checked his display, yep it was turned off, I turned it on for him and then it kept going off! He's turned it off again.
