2018 KTM 790 Adventure

The KTM 790 ADVENTURE R has several adjustable features to enhance rider comfort, including a higher or lower seat option, and six handlebar mount positions. A low-slung fuel tank, which lowers the centre of gravity, improves handling, and allows the rider to move around more freely. Its long-distance race ergonomics are designed for extreme riding, and the easy-to-access air filter makes it simple to change on the trail.

Anyone any news on seat heights available?

Cheers

No way fitting the 2 piece seat to the R will bring the seat ht down to 850mm - the height diference is more to do with the longer travel suspension (200mm compared to 240mm) ;)

Good point well made

I would want soft luggage. Can you see if that can really sticks out as far as it appears to please:thumb2

You getting one then? :D

Arsey, what did you think of it in the flesh?

I have to say my expectations weren't set too high but having seen your photos and others I'm really quite liking it.

So far what I've read all sounds good, other than the weight which is a little disappointing. I'll defo be sorting a test ride on one to see what it's like :)

Oh, and another thing, apart from (I'm assuming?) the hassle of needing to remove the tank to get at anything I really, really like the idea; it keeps the weight good and low, protects the bike in a fall and should even give a modicum of weather protection as well as allowing you to be over the bars more and have a nice narrow seat. Inspired really and like a lot of these things I'm surprised it's not been done before.

Andres

Much nicer in the flesh than I was expecting .

Interesting. The KTM website has Karoo 3(?) Tyres on the bike but here they show TKC's?

Will sit on it tomorrow anyway and will proffer an opinion.

They look good, might swop the 1190 for one if the Mrs likes it when we go to the bike show.

Could make the perfect tourer for her and commuter for me.

so its not much lighter than a 950/990, its less bhp, way more complicated with its whizbang can bus, abs, xyz etc. Was expecting somthing more, dont know what just a greater improvement since 2003

I'm glad it has conventional forks and shock. You do have to wonder whether some electronic thing will go wrong and leave you stranded down some mountain pass. I guess we'll find out.

That's not a Karoo. Maybe it's a tyre lottery.

How was the show? People here are saying it is a lot smaller than last year.

Oh yes hadn’t looked that close.

Show was great. I think one less hall than last year but still three times the NEC show.
