2018 KTM 790 Adventure

Not the sort of tyre to fast road on I suspect! Tipping in on those edges must make you clench up and cross fingers. Sure they'll do off-road very well though.

Yep. These are for the Iceland trip next Month. The roads are not fast, but the off road is awesome and I’m hopeful these do the trick.

Might try them on my DRZ400, running MX Tyres at the moment and although they work very well in mud they are pretty horrendous on the road, and where I live I need to do a lot of road to get to and from the mud.

These look proper job....

Just a quick note on the Bumot Xtremada panniers .
I now use these in preference to the ally Defenders. They are much more usable as it’s amazing what you can fit in them . The roll top closure actually is quite long so will take tall items if needed

The 4 ‘ bottle holders ‘ are also useful and will easily carry a 1.5 litre water bottle of obviously a fuel bottle , chain lube or whatever

The only downside I can see is lack of security. Obviously an issue in the UK but not so much for the rest of the world where they seem less interested in taking what’s not theirs !!

You would have to hold a dwarf by the ankles and lower him in to reach those bottles at the bottom of the bag.:D ; V impressive.

Ha ha. When I went to Brittany last week I took 4 16x12 pictures frames (in boxes) with me,no problem.
I also like the bottle holders front and rear of each pannier.

I've sent them some feedback though. The bike really doesn't want to be any wider down there does it. The gap between bars and tank is way to big and unecessary. Another 8cm of width at the tank area is too much.

But I love the design. Perhaps overkill for road riding but as mine is getting used off-road a lot they would suit me well. Could always get them cut back and re-welded if necessary I guess.

I’ve registered with them for more info when they are released etc.
I’ve only done a few tracks in Brittany on mine so far but will definitely venture a bit further off-road,and having these would encourage me more as less likely to wreck the thing with my amazing skills :-)

Riding with Rosie

I’m bored waiting to get back to the UK to collect my standard 790 Adventure—so it's time for a dog video!

Things aren’t all bad here—I get to ride every day on our local tracks. Before I got my 2013 690R I used to ride the same tracks on my 2009 Tenere. Of course anything the Tenere can do, the standard 790 Adventure will also be able to do standng on its head.

So view this video as an example of the tracks the standard 790 Adventure will very easily handle (and with none of the fancy electronics turned on).

Rosie seems much faster going uphill and I’ve recorded her at just under 40 kph. Rosie’s safety is paramount and there are times when I can’t ride as fast as I’d like because she has control of the track!

I bet she sleeps well. :D

If I was a dog I'd enjoy living there. Any snakes?

Nothing to overwork a 790.

Just a few snakes. There was one in the tree opposite our bar yesterday hunting birds. Lots of wild boar—when you see a 'beware of cattle' sign it normally means wild boar but they are generally around at night time.

Our nearest village was only connected to tarmac roads about five years ago, everywhere else is tracks and I have mapped about 200km of tracks in our immediate vicinity, it's an off-tarmac paradise with some really tough stuff I dare not even tackle.

Nice Tim..and what a cool dog :thumb2.

Your ex London bike is currently on it's way south ( couriered ) to Havant where I'll collect it on June 16th and then float over to Bilbao and enjoy some northern Spanish TET before travelling north on French TET.
Seems like I really have to get down to your corner of Spain at some time though

Yep, screen misting at top corners. Dry riding so far too. Off to dealer for first service on Monday for them to take a look
