Just heard from Owen-Bikers Jersey have an unsold 790R but he says its the only one they’ll have this year and he reckons they are sold out for months I’m UK,though some of the above posts suggest otherwise.

AMS have some coming through monthly I believe but whether any are available....

The (justified) hype will die down in due course I suspect.

Thanks Joe Narvey, that's a really good report.

I get frustrated reading bike mag articles that give endless details about electronics but you're left asking "but what does it feel like to ride"?

Journos take note!

Cut 20mm from the sidestand and weld the foot back on, the bike will lean more un-weighted but will be at a far more usable angle once luggage is added :thumb2

I had the same vertical problem with my 690R when loaded with panniers and luggage roll. I took the opportunity on recent trip to Morocco to fix this at a roadside metalworker. He detached the side stand, cut a 30mm section out of the middle of it, found a section of tubing that fitted snugly inside the two sections of sidestand, welded it back together, then welded a wide plate to the bottom of the existing foot.

To be fair I had heard of that mod before I went to Iceland and should have done something about it,history now didn’t spoil the trip thankfully

With comments like that I may have to start using a spell checker.

Went to buy milk this morning. Ten miles in the rain on the 790. Smooth, surefooted, no slips, slides, etc. Didn’t use Rain mode as no idea what that means yet.

Took it fishing. It’s crap at catching mackerel.

Took mine fishing for Coffee this morning. It’s crap at getting coffee but in fairness I’ve not explored all buttons yet.

Were those cobbles a bit too gnarly :Aidan
Don't mind me I just a bit jealous.

Oh dear God, I didn’t leave the tarmac!

Actually if you saw the sink how in front of that entrance I was more worried about disappearing into a big hole. The council keep filling it, Last time it was a small hole at the surface and the size of a bus underneath.

I took it off-road yesterday briefly, but toughest thing so far has been the speed bumps which is an odd sensation as there is no thud at first impact, it just rolls over.

I think that the same stand was used for some of the earlier models which had 25mm longer suspension so it kind of makes sense to remove a similar amount..nice easy fix.

...took a look at the R today and spent more time taking in the detail, the demo ride on the Adv had been rather rushed - Lovely bike.

It’s one in, out out for me on bike now so the 500EXC would need to go

Is TPMS available on the 790's, either standard or an option?

I believe they're both tubeless?

Don’t think so and not something I’d want . No SOS button option either !!!

I never wanted it till I had it. But have been warned twice of punctures before I felt them! I'd always assumed it was for lazy buggers....
