Morning folks, a mate has just bought a 2018 Triple the only problem is it’s like getting on Red Rum, so how dyou lower the ride height please,,, Cheers Baza 🤔

Has he read the manual??

Needs to lower the suspension setting (left hand control)

Put the seat on the lowest setting (Or replace the seat with a lower version

Hi BC i doubt if he’s read the manual 🙄,I wondered if there’s a button which might adjust the height, he’s done the seat job,he’s 5:11 and on top toes at a standstill 🤔
Thanks for your reply mate 👍

The first video shows how to drop the suspension

Height has very little to do with feet down.

Inside leg & arch are the overiding factors

1) Suspension to low / soft
2) Ultralow seat
3) Seat mounts set to low
4) offset seat bobbins

After that its 30mm out of the suspension, side & centre stands

Hi all i've just found this,it explains what i'm talking about a bit better,
Thanks for all your replies,,,,,,Baza

He's using the preload button on the left switch gear. You will see a small shock icon on the switch gear. this does both rebound damping and preload. Here's how you adjust it.

1. Make sure the engine is running and your sitting on the bike.
2. preload can only be adjusted at standstill, whereas rebound damping can be changed while driving.
3. one downward click to open up the menu
4. One long press and it will cycle to the next preload sequence, e.g. max, or auto or min - there's 3 options
5. You want to be at minimum to get the bike to the lowest position.
6. keep cycling through until you get to the one you want
7. you can feel the bike going up and down as you cycle through the settings, particularly max and min.
8. once its set it should retain that setting until you change it.

if you don't press for long enough it will adjust the rebound damping instead and cycle between road and dynamic modes. Have a play with it and it will become second nature. if you make a mistake just continue until you get it how you want.

It makes a fair amount of difference, i'd say min lowers it by about 20mm from auto and max add's another 20mm from auto.

i often cycle mine through the different settings on a ride out to make sure everything is working just as it should.

Practice with the side stand down or a foot on the curb, when I tried it went straight to max height and at 5'8 its a bit of a stretch.
As said above, long press and another long press to cycle through.
Its handy, I use it constantly in towns and flick to auto when heading on a ride, also in dynamic won't give you much give in the suspension flex, they are my changes for town, road and low, head for dynamic and auto for normal road riding.
Just my 50p's worth.

Top draw replies as normal, thanks very much fella's,i sent him the info bike
all now sorted one happy Beemer owner,,,,,Cheers Baza
