202.000 miler on ebay

Dissappointing corrosion of the fork brace... possible warranty claim? I'm not sure how such a mileage has been achieved with such a shortage of GS bling:augie

Obviously not a "proper" one...:D

I watched this with interest.. fascinated to see what it would go for. and the final price was:

£2,227

Jeez, was it really worth that much? Would anybody else have paid that for it, Or am I just too tight?

There must have been two people bidding against each other who wanted a massive mileage bike to pretend they are real hardcore bikers. I can`t think of any other reason why it would fetch that amount. I would have thought £1500 to £1800 would have been more realistic. Just another strange ebay result!

Nows the time to eBay all your crappiest riding gear so they really look the part. Great one for the dealer car park bores... "I was at 6000 metres in the Andes when my braces snapped, ho, ho..., etc, etc"

Something is worth what one or more people are willing to pay for it. Clearly at least 2 people thought this bike was worth over £2k, therefore it is.

Few enough 1150s come up sub-£3k that there will always be demand for one hundreds cheaper than that whatever the reason for it being that price. Some people simply want an 1150GS (and who can blame them?) but don't have enough money to buy a really clean one with sub-galactic miles on it.

I think you're right...

A bike with that much mileage becomes more than just a high mileage bike, if you see what I mean :augie

One of the reasons for choosing the BMV motorrad brand is its legendary durability, why the incredulity when one turns up with a bit of mileage on it and proves to still be a serviceable motorcycle?:nenau
