2020 R 1250 GS TE

Question

Is a Navigator V 1 standard equipment on this bike or is it an extra, the bike is sat nav prepared

No the whizzy wheel controls the tft even without nav prep

Thanks for the replies everyone.... :thumb

I have spoken to a Motorrad dealer who confirms that the navigation preparation and the device itself are individual

Don't bother with the Nav VI, too many failing.

Buy a V or something else.

For a while, BMW included a Nav 6 satnav with the purchase of a new bike. I don’t think this offer still exists although some new boxed satnavs have recently appeared in for sale ads on this site which may or may not have come with a new bike. It seems like all new GS’s of a particular specification include satnav preparation ie the wonder wheel and mount cradle.
I hope this helps. Maybe a dealership can answer more authoritatively.

Really? Mine works fine - what have I said?

I had 5 or 6 before giving up and buying a Garmin XT - I know the Navigator is made by Garmin.

That included two of the latest type.

Hope you have better luck with yours. :beerjug:

Again, the wonder wheel is nothing to do with nav prep

Brought my NAV V1 back to the dealer today. Would not respond to touchscreen, still under warranty.

One of the reasons I gave up with replacements and asked for a refund was that I didn't feel comfortable selling a new MLAR sat nav on here, for it to fail a few weeks/months later and the purchaser having no comeback.

It potentially cost me a couple of hundred quid, but after all the failures I had, I couldn't (with a clear conscience) pass on here.
