Anybody have battery issues on their post 21 RT's

It's kept on an optimate, rode about 6-7 miles then tried to restart and battery flat.
It's the original battery.

Back in the garage on the opt, reads 12.4v. Disconnect the opt started it and dropped to 12v.
Bike started fine and battery reads 14.3v when running.

Did similar last summer but been fine since.

Buy a new one. Motobatt hybrid is the one you want.

Had three batteries on my 2019 before I sold it. There is a known issue with the battery not turning the engine over after you have stopped (GS as well) if the battery isn't 100%. It is apparently something to do with too much compression. If you leave the bike for a short while (10mins) it will normally start. I used to carry a jumper pack, but once a new battery fitted with a higher cca it would be ok again for a while. Think this has been discussed on here before, so do a search.

Battery ordered, think I’ll invest in a jumper pack as well.

14.3v while running. Your not actually measuring the battery voltage but the bike’s output JJH

Im in the process of deciding which battery will be my next one.
The Yuasa YTX20CH seems to fit, with a considerable increase in cca, or the Noco lithium, also with a good overhead of cca.

Go NOCO, easy to fit, no pissing about with fiddly terminals.

I'm fitting all mine with them as batteries fall over.

Optimate 1 at 50 quid ish, job done for 10 years.

I've sold many batteries to folk who ride low miles and regularly and long term "maintenance" charge... My experience is regular normal use keep the battery going very well whatever brand... I've had Odyssey, Motobatts etc etc need changing after I've bought them and no probs thereafter, usually replaced with a Yuasa as that's what I can get easily...

I went for the Yuasa YTX20CH BS. Bottle fill and showing 16.2 volts after charging.
Hopefully it will stop the banging back against the starter that the old battery used to do when a bit tired, so protecting the sprag clutch.
