I finally got home last night. Long drive of 485 miles from Caen. I just stuck to toll roads and set cruise control at 80mph. Bentley drove nicely but should do after £8,000 service!

Entering final phases of preparation. Preparing list of jobs for early arrivals.

I may be a late arrival, choosing to come on the Harley may be a bad decision.

Feckin exhaust started leaking from the link pipe, not one of the useless cnuts that call themselves ‘dealers’ have the gasket and it’s an up to ‘2 weeks’ delivery on parts!!!!

Prepping the GS, and ive noticed one of the front indicators has a blown led (it only has 2 lol)

Oh and what a surprise, the rears are available singularly, but the fronts are a pair only ffs

Ive ordered a pattern part of the bay £9

I had some poor running issues week or two ago but got them sorted. I’m reluctant to ride it now, before 12th, I case I jinx it. It’s always the same for 2wks before I go to the TT as well. Once I’m travelling, can relax… I’m glad it isn’t just me

Turns out you can get the fronts as a single item

and the price wasnt that bad - so ive ordered a genuine one as a comparison

We are on a 5 day £96 getaway per person and a motorcycle excluding cabin with Brittany Ferries. We booked a cabin for each of the crossings though. Came to a £420 something in total for the 3 of us return, which is a bargain for a long weekend getaway. It is a going to be a long day at over 430 miles and it is a bank holiday in France too.

You should be okay with traffic on Assumption Bank Holiday, some shops will be closed, see traffic guide for French holidays.

What does the graph mean? I can figure the busy periods according to the colour but integral numbers etc…..

Numbers equate to the Zones in the bottom left corner of the page. They are the areas within France that will be on holiday, we have staggered holidays to try and prevent even bigger traffic jams. Depart means when they leave that area and Retour when they go back to it.
