Well I enjoyed that review. So many reviews don't answer the questions you might have. How many reviewers ride at night, even?

I feel I could buy one and know exactly what I was getting; for me that's the acid test.

So true, Paul. Most don't ride them long enough to even determine if a seat is poor or comfortable. That's why it's nice reading/watching long term reviews by owners, ones who actually use, keep clean, and maintain the bike.

For what it's worth, the only bike I've ever regretted selling is my Rally Raid 3 CB500X. All the others were easily replaced. That one was custom tailored and special...

Congratulations, it looks nice in red and I see it came with the light bar.

One option for a seat is Seat Concepts, there is a dealer/distributor there. They supply new reshaped foam and cover which widens the rear and centre of the rider's bucket about 1.5" as well as leveling it (lowering the rear, raising the front) to do away with the forward slope. Overall height remains the same. They also offer a tall, more like a rally version. I have the standard height version and can say it's much better than stock, though if the bucket was moved both back and up 1" it'd be ideal for me.

Got mine a couple of weeks ago, 26 model with the e-clutch. I bought it to replace my Honda ADV350 for commuting. I’m up to 700 miles of mixed riding, all on road. Really easy bike to ride, just jump on and go, no drama.

How does it compare to the ADV350 with regard ease of use, economy, fun etc?
Recovering from a fractured femur and not sure I want another MT07 Y-Amt, so looking for a replacement auto enabled bike that won't encourage me to ride like a tw*t. Tried sitting on the ADV a couple of years ago but found the seat high and wide - is the NX a bit easier to get on and balance? I'll be riding mainly back lanes covered in gravel and potholes, but will have a couple of longer trips away, possibly into Europe, so ability to cruise at legalish speeds an advantage

watching a video and someone who has a triumph speedmaster bought a 750gs and was talking about accessories and ££££

bracket to mount the screen higher instead of buying a screen 22 quid

mirror extenders - the mirrors are ok but the stalks are far too short least ill be able to move them out so i can see - five quid instead of the 10-12 they usually are
seat @Clifton the honda seat is millions saw one on aliexpress but still 94 quid

saw a seat pad - the honeycomb rubber ones just over the size of your hand and a bit wider with zippable cover for 27 quid - might do that

also been looking at luggage - the panniers you can get are too narrow so dont interest me but bought a givi rack they (honda place ironically) were selling as old stock 33 quid so bought that - and the box to go with it - square adv style box 38 litre sportsbikeshop were selling them under 90 when all the others were 3 figures

saw one from louis and thinking ooh thats cheap - is it from de so import and vat will be £

but noticed that and the postage were in ££ checked the www and its the uk site - 64 quid

less than 80 - thatll work

next is another ferry if the weather behaves

The ADV is a great bike, the storage under the seat is a huge bonus. The NX is not quite as easy to ride just because it isn’t twist and go. If you are worried about getting on and off the 350 is easier. The bikes weigh about the same…from memory 199 for the NX and 185 ish for the 350. Back lanes gravel pot holes… and longer trips then it’s the NX. I’m no help really!

No that's been helpful. I can use a foot lever, it's my clutch hand I have a problem with. But I do like blasting away from the line in full auto mode and get a shift on - I had a Forza350 for a while and it was initially okay but didn't really accelerate that quick once moving. That one was hanging though so time to try them both out, and anything else that's clutch less, under 200kg, 30bhp or above sort of ballpark figures.

I had a demo ride today and was impressed....and disappointed.
The combination of the engine and E Clutch is great, I wasn't expecting this level of performance from a 47bhp A2 budget bike so well done Honda. I was also impressed with the steering and handling, very easy to move around and change direction and stable at speed and also when cornering. The forks work well, supple with plenty of support and the brakes are also to a high standard giving lots of feedback when needed.
So what's not to like...

The seat is awful. I often think I have an iron butt and can ride for hours without pain (ten hours on a CRF300). However, as soon as I pulled away I could feel the seat wasn't good. After ten minutes I felt like I'd been riding for two hours with a burning sensation building between my legs.
The rear shock was the same. It feels ok bouncing the bike at standstill but once moving I could feel where the pennies had been saved. I'm 88kg, 6ft tall so certainly not overloading the spring. It would sing a few inches when sat on but that was it, it wasn't absorbing the undulations in the road and certainly not matched to the very good forks.
The third disappointment being the position of the foot pegs in relation to the exhaust. The pegs are too far back for a good off-road standing position and when doing so the exhaust fouls the right foot. I can maybe forgive Mr. H for this as the NX is a road bike but they could have routed the exhaust better.

Overall a great bike spoilt by an awful seat and rear shock.

Have any owners here changed their seat of shock?
I know Rally Raid sell aftermarket shocks.
