2025 Super Adventures

The 1390 engine with cam shift is bound to appear in the ADV line up

As the emissions regs get stricter engine sizes get bigger to keep the same power - its a bit daft really but there we go

Incidentally I am picking up a 1390 Super duke today so will comment on the engine later in a new thread

Interesting that they appear to be going a different styling route with the R compared to the S and possibly coming up with a larger fuel tank "T" version again.

Rick enjoy the 1390 SD - looks to be getting some good reviews 👍

Hoping the S goes for 17" wheel and maybe an inch less suspension travel as so few use the S for offroad, lower the pipes so the panniers hold a bit more / stick out less would be nice....

....Otherwise I will probably just get MCT to upgrade my 2019 suspension and a BSD remap and it will feel as good as a new one, if not better, without having to chuck £10k at an "upgrade"

The bike in the last picture in my OP certainly looks like it has a 17" front wheel - though with the state of UK roads think we will all be going for 21" front wheels with the maximum suspension travel :augie

Yeah that last one will be the SMT version, 17" front wheel a new swingarm to get a wider rear wheel in, and can't make out if they are Super Duke brakes as well?

I seriously doubt it will be 1490cc though, and it looks like the standard 23ltr tank?

Sure they will put on all sorts of tech that would put me off.

I want a key, conventional suspension, no radar system, just cruise control, traction control and nothing else, if only they would do a "poverty spec" version for the likes of me, and its not so much the tech that bothers me, but the fact they are all nudging £20k now with a shole host of shit on them that is not only prone to randomly failing, but has the dealers utterly dumbfounded - and we have to pay £100 an hour while they scratch their arse and chuck expensive new bits at it in a desperate bid to fix it.

Part of the reason I went for the 1290R this time round as it has conventional suspension and no radar - still has keyless which I would be happy without and far from "poverty spec" as it is still more expensive than the 1290S

Here's an interesting video - first time I have seen the 4th version at the end, maybe an M1000XR or Ducati V4RS competitor?

Same here. Keyless is pointless as I have keys for panniers, topbox, disc lock anyway.

Suspension is lovely though, I’ll twiddle the knobs if a want to change it and I don’t want radar or any of the other gubbins.

TBH, the CF Moto 800 looks really nice, about £9k with luggage, in another year or two it should get the 890 or 990 engines, once these top 100BHP I might decide thats enough, being honest I rarely use the last 3k of the 1290 rev range and these new 1390 / 1490 models will be nudging £20k before you add luggage, a 110BHP CF Moto with less electronics at half that price sounds good.

Im already at the point of £10k to trade up from a mint low mileage 2019 reg 1290 to a new one, in another 2 years that will be a £12k trade up, or maybe just £5k for the CF Moto - £7k is a lot of fuel / tyres / hotel.

I originally switched to adventure bikes to have more fun at lower speeds, its all going wrong!

E mail from Gear 4 - 800 MT with full luggage down to £6,799 - that's R E Himalayan 450 money  :

UPTO £1,800 OFF ON CFMOTO!

We've only had the CFMOTO brand in with us for a short time and they've impressed us every step of the way. They've well and truly proven wrong the stigma surrounding bikes from China and arguably have some of the most exciting incoming models of any brand in 2024.

Not only do they provide a 4 year warranty for peace of mind but you simply won't find bikes this well equipped at these low prices:

800MT Sport (with full luggage) - NOW £6,799!

800NK Sport - NOW £5,999!

700CL-X Adventure - NOW £4,995!

300NK - NOW £2,999!
