The new T40 is 191 kgs compared to 179 kgs Scrambler 400I rode the 400 scrambler which I think shares the same engine as this. The bike had a surprising amount of acceleration for a 400 and quite easily achieved motorway speeds (about 6,000rpm = 70mph) but it was obviously more at home on A and B roads.
It would be interesting to know how much the T40 will weigh, the Scrambler was about 180kg.
I’m sure as part of the A2 certification there has to be a relationship between weight and power. Hence higher weight. How on earth can a 2026 400cc single be heavier than a 1970s 400/4 from Honda? (c185kg wet apparently)
It does look nice but I reckon a manufacturer who can bang out a 150/160kg 400/500 for older riders would be on a winner.
Minimum weight for a 47bhp bike is 175 kg. So surely this could be significantly lighter, as it is well below 47 bhp.I’m sure as part of the A2 certification there has to be a relationship between weight and power. Hence higher weight.
I looked at it and thought Tiger CubI can see the merit in growing the 400 segment, but why do Triumph insist on misusing & abusing the historic Bonneville moniker.
Can't they use just a little imagination to reflect the T40 roots ......... Chakan, Pune or Maharashtra?
