looking at swopping it for a Macbook Pro.

I'm sure its still under warranty , but need to check before committing.

MacBook Pro - there's a few different specs of them so what is your expectation? How much did you pay and how old. I mean you can buy a brand new one mac book pro for a grand or you can buy a brand new one for 2 grand
