Left home Saturday 26th may, tunnel 12:00 and off to Trier for the first night. Cracking four star hotel with private off road parking.

Trier is the oldest city in Germany, dates back to 16BC, quite nice!

Menu looked good.

Day two quite a long day on fast roads to Garmish and another cracking four star hotel.

This is where the fun started, shortish day on some amazing roads to Bormio.

Two nights in Bormio to make the most of the Stelvio National Park with light bikes.

Lunches were not bad.

Had to do the Stelvio again.

More to follow tomorrow.

Two nights in Bormio, we had the place to ourselves as it was inbetween seasons for them, very quiet roads. Only one restaurant open on the second night, luckily it was good food.

Rode down to Lake Garda and then up the left hand side and over the Gavia pass back to bormio.

A bad attempt at an arty pic of my bike and a couple on the Gavia.

Then headed North through the one way tunnel just outside Livigno.

Onto the Fluella pass and stopped at the top to take a couple of nostalgic pictures of the Fluella Hospice where I stopped in 2009 after getting stuck in the snow (avatar pic).

stayed in the Black Forest that night, no pics cause the weather was pretty bad.

Next night in a fantastic hotel with chalets by the river in the middle of Luxembourg.

Last night in the Crown Plaza in Brugge where we were upgraded into medieval suites (nice).

All costs including hotels, food, fuel, drink, tunnel for four of us sharing rooms came out somewhere between £750 & £800, just waiting for the final credit card bill to confirm.

Thanks for the ride report. :thumb2

It looks and sounds like you all had a great time.
The quality of the hotels look excellent and the roads are a riders dream, I remember the roads in Germany well although I was riding my 1098s at the time :D
The cost of your trip is pretty good value IMHO.

Thanks for posting. :beerjug:
