Left a bit, down a bit....no too far..
My GS12 came with the Mickey Mouse toolkit.

After some considerable effort (I have three box spanners that don't fit - no, don't ask!) and with the help of Plasmatron (based in Taiwan) who identified a Japanese manufacturer of a 22m Hex bit, I managed to source a UK supplier of the said item which arrived today and seems to fit very snugly - although I haven't had time to actually undo the spindle.

In case it helps others, the details are as follows:

Koken 22mm Hex (part no: 4012M-43 22MM

HD Tools, 27, the Juggs (stop sniggering at the back), West Chillington, Nr Pulborough, West Sussex, RH20 2JT

Telephone: 01798 813837

www.hdtools.co.uk

I spoke to Dave Davis before I ordered mine and he was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. He had one on the shelf, but deliveries into the UK are intermittent for Koken items, so he may have to order one for you.

Cost me £15 plus postage. I could post a photo, but it is really just a big black hex bit that is 22mm in size!

Hope this is helpful.

Cheers mate, I might mill myself one from EN16T and weld it onto an old socket. Cheaper than buying one.

get a 22mm nut & weld to that?

guzzi's use several of them them.

Not up to that!

I have followed and used Hmarc's very useful information on a "home assembled" toolkit with great interest and have started to put one together for my bike.

However, in my case it is definitely cheaper (and safer for my neighbours) for me to buy one rather than to try and weld something together myself - I've made a mess of an awful lot of DIY in my time and have the scars to prove it!

It took me quite a while to find this particular part - and I would still be looking without Plasmatron's guidance (thanks again to him) and I just posted the info in case it saves anyone else the hassle.

Alternatively, someone might put a batch of welded bolts/old sockets together and sell them under Innovators/Vendors.

Cheers,

Psyko
