Anyone test ride the new AT sport with the 19” front wheel yet? Seriously tempted to change my year old GS1250 for one.

There's a short comparison test of that Africa Twin, the Tiger 900 GT Pro and Moto Guzzi Stelvio in the November issue of Bike Magazine.

Read that one which was interesting. Would like to know if any GS1250 made the change..

Yes, for me personally, It would be a case of head or heart, I’d have gone for either the Africa Twin or the Stelvio, the Tiger 900 GT Pro wouldn’t have been in the frame for me. If Triumph had left the crankshaft alone and not given it the T-plane crank, it would have been in the running. Others of course will disagree.

I'm booked in for a test ride next Saturday, taking out the DCT model.
Took the GS1300 out last week and it didn't float my boat to be honest, but I suppose each to their own.

I love the DCT on my Goldwing so interested to see how it fairs on the AT

It arrived, then it snowed:mad::ROFLMAO:

Awaits proper ride update....may be waiting until May '25 I suppose......
well if we get some rain to wash away the salt on the roads, then I may well make full use of the heated grips and have a ride out :D

1st 25 miles were quite refreshing really. Sports mode makes a big difference. DCT is great for me, I am converted.

Me likey(y)

Not ridden the latest ATAS but my 2018 with DCT was brilliant.

This might be worth a watch. He gives an honest review when testing bikes.
Yep
Agree with LCR(y)
an honest review definitely.
The DCT works for me. For me the AT fit me. I'm short inside leg and almost flat footed when stationary on the AT

I liked the ability to be able to switch between riding modes such as "Urban" or "Road" and also "Sport 1, 2 or 3" which lengthens each gear before changing.
Oddly on the Goldwing DCT I only once went for a clutch to change gear, but on the AT it happened four times:blast:nenau
Oh and don't forget there is a manual option for gear changes.

I test rode the GS 1300 a week before and found the throttle response to be a little too snappy on/off, especially on the poor local roads, that was a manual version 1300.
I'm a big fan of the GS in general and the boxer engine format giving "character", but unfortunately the 1300 just didn't do it for me I did like the cruise/radar though. worked very well indeed(y)

At the end of the test ride on the AT I had a big grin:D on my face. Similar to the one I had when I tested the Himmie 450.
I didn't have the same reaction after a test ride on the GS 1300.
Nothing wrong with the GS, but not for me I suppose.

I do like the engine sound of the AT, the sound gives it, to me, "character", similar to what I appreciate with the BMW boxer engine.

The screen was okay ish, however after being spoilt with the Goldwing Screen it is an adjustment I have to adjust to. The screen is adjustable but you are required to use both hands to raise the screen, so on the hoof is almost impossible or at most very very fiddley.
I'm sure someone will develop a method or device to make it easier.

I haven't taken the AT off road and not sure if I will do.
If I do, it will be no more than a gravel track, so I cant comment, although standing up I felt comfortable and confident in my limited abilities.

I have owned bikes most of my life, well since 15 years old, so have a little knowledge and a little ability to try understand the differences, but again they are to fit me and in no way am I in a position to instruct or preach how good a bike is to another person. just my 2p worth. I hope that makes sense from my 25 mile review:thumb2

I'm waffling now so I shall go back to dreaming of nicer weather and looking at the farkles catalogues.

stay safe

Just last Thursday I bought ATAS 2025 DCT in Grey ;) Some say it's wrong colour, but it's right for me
I switched from GoldWing DCT. Wanted something lighter :ROFLMAO:
Tested GS1300 and Multistrada V4S. GS 1300 was with the new semi auto gearbox. I'm afraid it is not comparison yet to Honda's DCT. It working but smoothness is kind of questionable. Multistrada is more sport bike than even touring one, no mention off road. yes I know you can take everything off road, but why?
So after all tests, and thinking surprisingly for myself I opted in for the less powerful bike of them all. And I do not regret it. Rode 200 miles in one shot, and no issues. Obviously it is not that comfort like Gold Wing, but it is good enough that I do not regret buying it. Hope it will stay that :sneaky:
