Goodness, I'd forgotten Civil. I seem to remember an event at Maxwell motors BMW when they sold bikes, a GS rider starting an around the world trip or something like that. Anyone else remember that ?

We all went out for Chinese food the evening before and followed the retired submariner and girl friend / wife from the dealership out of Dublin.
Most of the Gs members all sold “insurance” in those days….

Aug 19, 2002 I joined. It’s been a long time.

Joined because I had just purchased a R1250gs in that ugly Mandarin colour.

I remember Civil. I too had purchased a set of his panniers. But they arrived very badly packed in a couple of layers of thin bubble wrap. So slightly dented and scratched. I was absolutely livid!

Still. Time moves on. Had so many different bikes in that time. But always seem to come back to a GS.

Nov 23, 2003 for me. Must have been straight after I bought my 1150. A lot of names on here I recognise from back in the day....

I haven't been active since I sold the 1150 and stopped (motor) biking.
