24k service cost

Hi,

Just a quikie, my 06 ABS GSA is due its 24k service.
I suspect that they will want to change the brake fluid aswell this time as it came up as "Yellow", what ever that means, when tested last year.

Any guestimates on cost at a BMW dealer?

Mine was £246 inc VAT but that was this time last year.

Make sure you get an estimate from your dealer so you aren't surprised when they present the bill

I got two quotes from different dealers for my 30k service, from memory they were both in the region of £300 plus mot costs,then found an independent with BMW experience and got the lot done for £185. The guy runs his own business and his future income depends on doing a good job and keeping his customers happy, when I collect my bike after its annual fettle he spends time explaining what has been done and shows me any replaced parts.

24K service on a '08 GSA, and that was after they "massaged" the figures 'cos the bill was so big. It was a 24K mile ( 40.000 km) and first annual service, every box on the service sheet was ticked; All fluids, everywhere, have been replaced.

The biggest slug of he bill is probably the alternator belt replacement; folowed by change of front and rear circuit brake fluids ...

I did a major service myself recently including flushing the Servo ABS with new fluid. Cost all-in was just under £70, including stuff to clean my K&N air filter and excluding the cost of a new oil filter as I have some on the shelf. I spent the money saved on a new rear disk and pads.

That's what I thought, but the latest service schedule has it as every 6 years or 40,000km ( 25,000miles ).
