....... and there playing on Sky Arts 1 at the moment.

Recording of the 1978 concert at Londons Rainbow Theatre

And another one today

The Scottish singer and songwriter Gerry Rafferty has died following an illness. He was 63.

The Paisley-born musician was best known for his 1972 hit Stuck in the Middle With You with his band Steelers Wheel.

He tasted more success in 1978 with the song Baker Street which reached number 3 in the UK charts and number 2 in the US.

Rafferty, who battled alcoholism for many years, was admitted to hospital in Bournemouth in November with suspected liver failure.

When Thin Lizzy split up Lynott started up Grand Slam. One of my mates Dosh Nagle played with them. They used to practice in the community center in howth. We used to go and listen to them in the hall. Oh the good old days.... no security and free gigs. Lynotts mother lives very near me, she has pilgrimages to her house by fans.

Thin Lizzy

I was a big big fan all those years ago...
Still listen to their stuff today

I saw grandslam play live in Sir Henry's in Cork, before they turned it into a rave club. Phil was out of his mind, and the gig was delayed for ages while they straightened him up, then he came on and played an absolute blinder.
Amazing night.

I went to a Thin Lizzy concert (Whitla Hall at Queens Uni) in the 80's. It was one of the best I've been too over the years.
