I haven't needed to use my GPS on the bike for a while and I know the 2610 is no longer supported by Garmin for map updates etc.

Is there any way I can get up to date maps on it at all?

I have a trip coming up soon and would prefer to use my 2610 as I have it all set up for my bike and Autocom.

what level do you have now?

CN Europe 2009 (which equates to v11 using the old scale) is the latest available. There are ways to get this on your PC if you do not have it.

I believe there are 3rd party solutions but I haven't tried any - I only use the 2610 on the bike as my car came with integral satnav and little has changed in the rural parts of Europe I ride on. On the rare occasion I need to find my way to a hotel in a new development then I can always fire up google maps on some device or other.

openstreetmap is the way forward http://garmin.openstreetmap.nl/

Choose the map tiles, send your request and you get an Email when it is ready to download, Opens in Mapsource as a new map ( on the drop down menu top left).

At least around here and in those areas I have used it in the UK the mapping is at least as good as Garmin's

Allows you to keep your 2610 for as long as it works.

I should have added that the openstreetmap site does not appear to work properly with Internet Explorer. Works fine with both Firefox and Chrome
