Thinking about getting a 2610.

Looking through the TT catalogue, I see they also sell them, comes with the battery pack, 512mb card, Remote Control, Cigarette Lighter adaptor & Mapsource.

In addition, they claim to have sealed various components with resin to prevent damage from vibes.

How does this compare with buying a regular 2610 from a UK stockist like Maplins.

TT Germany want 989 Euros (about £690?) whilst TT UK want £817:eek:

Are the TT lockable mounts worth the money & how do they compare with the stock Garmin plastic mount?

Thanks

Steve

i have TT MvG mount. it's very nice & one of the few things that TT sell that looks as if it is worth the money asked. it does however attenuate the signal a bit from the unit's internal arial, so i use a remote antenna. it's also rather big, so tends to block more of the instruments than the RAM mount which i also have.

i never use the RAM cradle any more, but i use the adjustable RAM arm bolted to the TT mount.

very glad of the lock after some thieving french :eek::eek::eek: tried to pull my 2610 off last week. it's still there, my tankbag isn't.

Hi Steve,

I use the Garmin plastic mount because

- there is no damping of the internal antenna
- I do not really need theft protection because I will take my
Garmin with me if I haven't any eye contact to it
- the release mechanism can easily be locked by turning a screw
(mini screwdriver - torx- is supplied)
- it's a lot cheaper
- may not cause injuries in case of accidents

together with a bracket (please see the "brackets" thread)
in can be mounted wherever you want.

regards

Dietmar

Thanks for the replies.

I've heard of a BMW Navigator II Plus? If it exists, is it any different to the normal Nav. II?
