Silly question time. I have just ordered my 2610 from GPSW. A mate also thinking of one, but asked can he download USA maps and use it in the states whilst on holiday (Vacation)?

I was in the new Garmin store in Chicago last week.
They wanted $200 for the North American City Nav NT maps.
I was tempted to get some mapping,but not at that price !
But having checked their website,i think he was quoting me the price for the pre-loaded SD card

Yes, this past summer I downloaded all of europe into my US 2610 and enjoyed a long holiday. Minor nit! Only gives detail from 3 mile range down.
