2610 or 2620

You will probably end up buying a bigger memory card if you buy a SP2610

If you buy a SP2620 for motorcycle use then you will probably return it for microdrive replacement the first time then swap it for a SP2610 the second time the microdrive fails (both failures likely to be in the first 2 months)
Microdrives are not recommended for environments with vibration.

With the SP2610 you also get a copy of Mapsource City Navigator to load on your PC which does not come with the SP2620.

2610 on ebay

The ebay item in question is a USA basemap version, the seller is actually based in Florida, the reason I know this is that I was probably the first person in the UK to buy a 2610 from them and did have some problems, at first, in that I was only provided with the US software, although, to be fair the European software did come, (much) later.

The US basemap version can be used almost as effectively as the `proper` Europe version, particularly if you use a 1gb CF card.

I believe most will agree that you are better off spending a bit more to get the European basemap version, I cannot remember the name of the company but there were several that bought from a company www.sportextreme.com for 755GBP inc. vat.

If you do a `search` you will find the details. john

ta

yes others have said stay away from the 2620 due to vibration problems.

I have decided to go for the 60cs as I also need something for cycling/walking.

If you want the bigger screen and internal batteries then look at the GPSmap 276C.

Just remember to cost in a data card and City Select as they are not included in the package.
