2610 Software - v3.90 vs 3.70

I've downloaded v3.90 from Garmin's site, loaded it into my 2610, but when I check the "System Info" on the unit, it says I have v3.70 loaded. I've tried reloading and it asks me if I want to overwrite identical software - so it clearly thinks it has v3.90 loaded.

Has anybody any experience of this, or any idea what's happened?

no, I don't understand why, but it worked on mine.

and it didn't take as long as upgrading the City Nav v7 either

Nah, already tried that (unit was of for 30 mins or so) - still says v3.70...

funny, my system info says 4.20 yet garmin are saying 3.9 is the latest

i have an idea it might have been included in the mapsource 6.5 update.

No - I've got the 6.5 update

Perhaps it's a Garmin random number generator...

Just spoken to those terribly nice chaps at Garmin, who told me to update my unit at BMW Motorrad's site, as my Nav II has different software upgrades to the 2610.

I'm currently downloading v4.30 - and I'll report back when it's unbuttoned and loaded...

All done - now using v4.30 - let's see if I can spot any differences...

There is someone who is complaining that v4.30 is not giving him the correct directions at roundabouts, telling him to take second exit when the route goes of at the first exit.

Yep - when you press 'System Info', it now clearly says 'v4.30'.
