Just fitting an Autocom Active Rider, fitted it all in place, wired it up the only snag being, not sure what lead to use to go to the GPS unit, it comes with two leads

2.5/3.5 jackplug
3.5/3.5 jackplug.

I know the GPS is a 2.5 and the Autocom is a 3.5, but is there more than one type of 2.5 connection?

The cradle and wiring is Garmin.

All I want to connect to the unit is my 2610 and soon a PMR.

Thanks
Dave :D

Autocom were a great help to me, so I can recomend them from my experiences

I have the same set up on mine, however on installation there was a mismatch between the Garmin power audio lead and the autocom power lead on one of the Jack plugs/sockets, they appeared to be compatable but caused an intermittant failure of the GPS audio circuit. I removed the plug & socket and hardwired as per instructions from Autocom, all was fixed. And has been fine for 8 mths now!

My 2610 came with a Garmin power/audio lead, basically a lead from the back of the GPS (funny shaped slide in connector) about 4" to a "Y" on one of the two ends (short) is a Jack "Socket" you would normally plug the supplied ear peice into this. On the long side of the "y" is the power connections to the battery.

When you connect to the autocom it will be via the Jack socket, in my case the problem was a missmatch between the garmin power audio jack socket and the autocom lead jack plug.

Hope this helps

If you want a chat, PM me, and i'll give you my number.

thanks for all this help. :thumb

Oredered the parts yesterday, arrived this morning, excellant service from Autocom.

Connected it up tonight to test it and GPS comes through the helmet, only thing is the sound can only be turned down from the GPS, the volume switch on the Autocom makes no difference, is this correst?

Yes but...

....you'll find that the GPS volume will lower automatically through the Autocom when you speak over her!

Brave man if you do though!

Sherpa ;)
