Just got my new 2610 and it seems to work fine on the bike. Put it inside the car in the front screen and it loses all satellites. I dont have a heated screen and my etrex still picks up the signals, any ideas?
Does it have one of these "heat reflective" screens, like the ones fitted to some Renaults? ISTR that those also block satellite reception.
The easy answer is to get an external antenna and bung it on the roof.

.. or 'athermic windscreen' and most french cars have'em plus many more incl Ford & Vauxhall these days.
The solution as Jim650 says .. is an own brand external antenna from GPS Warehouse, the part number is ANT-19-MCX which is £25 Quid and delivery.

Correct, I do drive a nasty French Renault. The Laguna I have at the moment is only a temporary loan from the garage but when my new Megane arrives I have been assured it does not have one of those reflective screens. Cheers for your help.

Oddly enough the Focus I'm driving has one of these screens and my Quest works perfectly in it.....quite a nice strong signal- but my Snooper Geo 6 thingy can't even see a satellite so I've had to stick a puck on the roof.
