2610 -> Zumo 660

[Rugged Path]

Would my basic world map disc used during my 2610 days still operate with the Zumo?

Not in a position to try out at the moment.

Answer is not relevant really,as the Zumo comes with the basic world map pre-installed. I moved from 2610 to 660 without any problems whatsoever (don't get me started abouit since...)
I have Mapsource on PC hosting v8.0 for the 2610 running alongside the latest mapping available for the 660. Shame the 2610 can't access the Zumo mapping but hey ho...

Small question,I have just updated my Nuvi 660 with the latest maps which are stored on my pc could i download them to my Zumo 660 or would it say no?Don`t want to try it in case it stuffs up.The trouble i have is i have the 2010 maps on disc but the unit has a 2011 upgrade and it wont accept a route.

It would say "NO!"

Purchased maps are unit specific, hence the very long key codes that come with it.

Thanks for that as it mirrored my thoughts.If i buy the update for the zumo i will be downloading the identical mapset When i downloaded the mapset for the second time (dont ask )it didn`t ask for codes.I guess it must recognise the Nuvi.

Just as an update to this thread,I rang Garmin and explained my predicament and the nice lady gave me a onetime update of the latest mapping

Garmin aint they nice people
