I am buying a bike from a very nice chap

We are cool ,no money has changed hands yet

However we have a bit of a problem

I thought he was selling the bike with a garmin 660

Apparently I am mistaken and he is selling only the fitted mount

He has offered to throw in a Garmin Nuvi .. 2620

I am a know nowt about sat nav, and would appreciate any comments from you who do

It is a genuine mistake ,and I don't want to be a twat and try to knock him down any more on price, but i figure the 660 adds £450 to the deal:nenau

and it aint that sweet mit nein 660

It depends upon whether it's an early or late 2620. Early ones had micro-drive memories which were unsuitable for motorcycle use. Later ones were equipped with solid state memories which work just fine on motorcycles. Even so, it's still old technology. As it uses pre NT maps, the latest mapping available is City Navigator 2009.

Thanks

How much do you reckon the later model would be to buy

To be perfectly frank, if you know nothing about Sat-Nav the 2620 is worth zilch to you. You will probably want a unit that accepts a full 7-digit postcode which the 2620 does not.
The 2620 and its sister 2610 are now experts or "afficionados" GPS units.

Where do you get £450 from

A new 660 is approx £386 from Satnaveasy and you are buying a secondhand 660 and as everyone on here expects to pay 50% of the new price that would make a used one worth approx £190.
