I can't seem to find the compass page on my nre 2727 - maybe it doesn't have one? Anyone out there no where I might find it?

John mate, you have helped me before - you seem to be the font of all knowledge regaring Garmin!:bow

Reading between the lines - it seems I won't find it on my 2720 - bugger!

I've had a few Garmins over the last few years. :)

To be honest I think it would only be of use if you were navigating off road, and then it would be easier to interpretate. Not had the pleasure of trying this out yet. :o

There is a compass on the BMW versions but not the normal Garmin but as the compass on a gps only works when you are moving it is of limited use on a `road going' gps. There is the option on the 2720 to put a tiny compass arrow on the left of the map but, to be honest, its more of a gimmick than a useful tool.

Both on bike and backpacking, if I need to follow a bearing I use a magnetic compass.

I have used an eMap for 7 years now and always 'enjoyed' the compass - I don't really want to mount a second GPS!.................I'll just keep my eye on the road, though there is such little traffic here...........but then again this is moose season - got a CLOSE look at more thn 20 last week!

Not true, My 60CS has a digital compass and works from the stand still.:thumb You can use it just like a compass, it has an aiming sight with allows sight and go.
