Anyone interested in joining me to get some practice in "getting dirty" before the real deal at the Hograost in honour of Motorhead?

Route is similar to "Wombat Runs"; lanes are a combination of chalk, sand & mud so you'll be better of with TKC or similar, especially if its wet.

I can only think of one problem lane for a GS, and there are alternate routes if neeeded. Really depends on experience & how good you are at picking it up!

I anticipate leaving Newlands Corner at 10:00, finishing off late afternoon in either the Alton or Hindhead vicinity, depending on progress etc on the day.

Who's up for it?

Yep - i could be up for this:thumb

Will be interesting to hear what the excuses will be this time for falling off, now you have a new rear tyre :D

pinks - replied on the other thread, looks like millard and myself will be in attendance. riding from blazinsmoke on the back roads so hopefully there on time - are there any fuel stations nearby?

Hi DR, best bet is to fill up as you come through Guildford, or failing that there is one in Gomshall that we can stop at on the route. C'ya there

Free bump - I take it that this is still on . Weather looks ok on the beeb website. Looking forward to it - Any idea of a plan? Is it a morning bimble or would it progress into the afternoon?

Yep we're still on guys. I have a route running from east of Guildford (Shere to Coldharbour), across to Farnham (Puttenham to Hindhead) area then working our way down to Alton via Petersfield. Depending on progress we may be able to cover the whole route - in total its ~110miles of varied terrain, including sand :thumb2

It is all very dry except for one or two bomb holes, its also very overgrown so make sure your peepers are adequately protected!

See you all at Newlands Corner for a 10:00 departure :)

Numbers check looks like definites are:
Andres / Dolly Rocket / David Emsley / David James

possibles are:
Adventure Stu & NC Pierce

looks like a good number for us to be able to cover the whole route :-)

Anyroom for a small one? XR600.

And if so wheres Newlands corner? Is it that beauty spot on the Shere Rd at the top of the hill just outside Guildford?

Course there is - so far theres nobody on a GS anyway! Yes you're right its that place on the road to Shere, cu there :thumb

Great run today :clap- thanks pinks for leading. As expected, the bike was far better than the rider! Need to practice that sand business though - let us know if you're up for it again soon. Good to meet some familiar faces again and some new ones.

Mike.

p.s. Todd, send us an email with your number rather than posting it .. mike {dot] rendall *at* gmail smot com

Will do Mike.

Well what a great day to be had, lots of new lanes done and a few old favorites.
Weather was hot!!! and i was wearing my waterproof crisppacket in the morning so by lunchtime i was dripping.

A few fallers today, but thankfully no injuries, Finished the ride at 7pm had a quick shandy with Pinky to celebrate his birthday and then did a few more lanes on my own on the way home from Alton resulting in me getting in about 9, cracking days riding.

Well done pinky on organising the day.
