Last Tues of month is 29th jan ...

Meet up at windmill to plan next trail ride eg; route ,who's leading and how many small groups ect...

I'll bring my maps so any of you guys that were out last weekend feel free to bring along your own map (OS landranger 110,118,119,) if you would like to record some GSable lanes :thumb2

Sorry this offer is only open to people i have ridden with ...

I'll try to make it Pip, thanks for the offer. Punk band normally practices but I'll try to put them off.

Where's the best place to pick up the maps???

Try high peak outdoor shop in Hanley or the big book shop just round corner from Hanley post office or W H Smiths...:thumb2

like wise Phil
looks like we have most of the lanes cover in the peaks that are legal to ride on our Maps from looking at yours and what i've got on mine...(booth look the same):)

do bring along a marker pen chaps:thumb

looking forward to seeing you all again along with a few new faces :):thumb

having missed the ride out, what are the chances of sharing the routes, with a view of cash on the day to air ambulance in line with your ride out.

or

vetted by ride out first ?

i understand that this info is as a result of long hours spent over the definiive maps and riding the routes.

willing to commisssion a ride out when the FGS arrivesif that helps

???????

So pop along to the NEXT Meeting at the windmill( please double check i'm going first) then i'll Mark up your maps for a few quid that will be GOING to THE NWAA:) :thumb:thumb does that sound fair?
or just come on the next ride we do:thumb:thumb:D

I've just read my earlier post and it might sound a bit odd.

All I'm getting at is that I like to have ridden with guys that I pass map info to as it'd be irresponsible of me to pass info on without assessing their off road ability and helping them understand how complex and challenging some of the lanes can be especially on a big bike like a GS. Basics like never riding alone need to be understood; no-one wants to be come off on a lane and find a GS on top of them in the middle of winter.

I know it's very difficult to find the lanes in the Peaks - it's not as easy as picking up the OS map and looking for byways etc, and having led a number of rides in the past for groups on a different forum, I found myself being bombarded with requests for map info - people offering to send me maps that I'd mark up and return to them  This is just not going to happen !

Anyone that wants to come on a trail ride with us is more than welcome (numbers permitting), it doesn't suit everyone, so its best to try it out in experienced company; trust me, there are some lanes in the Peaks that if you made the mistake of riding a GS down, you'd probably need it airlifting out:D

See you at the next Windmill meet come along on our next trail ride ...:thumb2

cheers mate, a bit of colouring on the night will be great.

i'm lost without the GS Advenure, but the XL is like going back in time:rob, and it doesn't cover the ground as well.

if all is well i will try get the XL to the windmill, 6v 35w main beam will be interesting at night:(

I'd be happier on a first time out knowing that, whatever the bike, i'd come back in one piece,

having taken up treking (on foot )(up and snowdon etc ) in past couple of years, you get so much more out of it if shown by someone who is an experienced guide.

ok Les
find a 6v HID:blast
an alter candle would be brighter, and wouldn't vary with the revs:D

then when it arrives you can look at the FGS if it needs extra lights, but hey it is a BM after all:augie

no worries mate:beerjug: thats the tinternet for you,

I'm hardly a regular, what with work etc (typically was local authority planning committee night)

still have to see if the FGS is an accepted bike for the ukgser

my other riding buddies

Yes, sounds good to me Terry. Just so we've got some idea of how people are fixed over the next few weeks; does Saturday cause a problem for anyone ? On the whole everything is quieter then than a Sunday. For starters I can't make the;

- weekend 26th Jan
- 16th Feb (Hayleys party)

I'm free most Saturday and Sundays apart from then. Anyone interested, start listing your dates and we'll get a rough idea of who's free when :thumb2
