For such a low volume bike why are there so many second hand ones around?
I pulled the plug on buying a new one last year because of the reccesion but could be temted again now second hand.
Are they not that good or a case of must have the latest s1000rr?
Cheers.

The HP2Sport a very good motorcycle, very different from any other 'sports' bike currently available.

I own an one and have had a prolonged ride on the 1000RR, which is also a very nice bike. Of the two? Well, I wouldn't be disappointed with either, that is for sure.

The HP2Sport makes no concessions at all. It has no pillion capability and struggles with any luggage much beyond a tankbag. That being said, I took it to France for three days without too much of a problem. The RR will take luggage (they sell a tailpack and a tank bag) and a pillion, too. It also has the latest bells-and-whistles in the electronics department......... and it's quicker :D

Have a decent ride on both, not just a tootle around the block. If you like one over the other, then buy the one you like. If you don't like either, don't buy them. If you can't decide, toss a coin or ask UKGSer......

Basically, what Wapping said.:thumb

I owned an HP2 Sport for two years and I loved it.:clap

Loved:-:D
Exclusivity, build quality, exotic components and materials.
Grunty, high revving DOHC boxer engine – good for 165mph.
Exhaust sound.
Quick shifter.
2D dash
All the adjustable bits.
Shaft drive.
Riding position (suited my 5’8” 17stone frame)
Oh, and the handling was sublime, definitely one of the best handling bikes I have ever ridden.

Not so Loved:-:mmmm
Exclusivity, build quality, exotic components and materials -
(very expensive if damaged, e.g. Belly Pan cost £1300 and front wheel cost £700 to replace due to damage)
Solo seat.
Difficult to carry luggage – strap-on tank bag and Rucksack only, though I rode it 1400miles through Spain (got my mates to carry all my stuff).
Only good for 165mph – the Jap missiles were passing me on every straight bit of road:blast (but I’d get them again in the twisties:thumb).

Like Wapping said though…you need a good long test ride.
:thumb2

Hi pgm...had any test rides yet? ive had a HP2 sport for almost a year, after riding all sports of stuff for last 30 odd years...its the best...as yonko sais. but i rather stupidly had a big off is Spain last year on my GSA, almost copped for it, 2 months in Hospital, 3 months in wheelchair etc. Lot better now but still a while from riding again...the HP2 is still sat in the garage, its immaculate, i do look after my bikes, its just over a 1000 miles and as i say perfect. Price? i dunno, had other things on my mind, but wil;l take census from the nice boys on here and go with that if your interested...cheers

I've so got the secret horn for a HP2S.... however if my wife catches me even looking slightly sideways at one....

I'll be in so much bother....

they are everything, expensive, cool, rare and interesting and did I mention expensive....and cool... oh and it's a boxer....:thumb2
