30m smuggled cigarettes seized in Louth

Almost 30 million smuggled cigarettes have been seized during an operation in County Louth in the Irish Republic.
The cigarettes were hidden in timber pallets on a Russian ship which docked in Greenore several days ago.They are believed to have an estimated value of about £10.5m.More than 120 million cigarettes were seized on a ship at Greenore in October last year in what was described as the biggest seizure in the UK and Ireland.
About 150 law enforcement officers from the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland were involved in the operation.
