32" LCD 1080 TV

No1 son wants a new 32" Flat screen to run his xbox, Mac and watch TV/DVds from

Looking at Sony 32W4000, any suggestions, he'll be using it in his bedroom, mounted on wall me thinks.

Looked at Panasonic with Free sat, only £80 to install dish etc, so he can have HD TV as well.

Your comments and recommendations much needed, he has money burning a hole in his pocket now he's earning, wish I was 19 again. Wants to go out out to Sony Centre JLs tomorrow.

I got my hannspree 37" 1080 last year for £330 delivered from bt online. Brilliant tv, can highly recommend it, seems much better quality than my mates 32" phillips. His just doesnt seem as sharp but his cost £170 more! Paying for a name?

I personally have a Panasonic 32" LCD which is awesome. Got it from Costco wholesale and compared to the LCD the rest of my family have it easily exceeds them particularly for gaming and Bluray playback. However, the Sony is good too (also available cheap at Costco), just know what you are getting.

The TV you're looking at in Sainsburys is not technically full HD (its HD ready which is less detailed), but you won't notice on a 32" screen and its only a 2nd TV in your house. Also you miss out on a few extras like picture frame mode, true cinema, usb sockets and a few other niceties. So I would go with the Sainsburys one. Just do a little research on Amazon to check reviews and what you are not getting with the cheaper screen

I agree, I cant tell the difference between 720 and 1080p bluray on a 37" at normal distances.
Would be interested to hear how he gets on with connecting his mac, I cant get mine to set the correct resolution, but annoyingly the pc connects and recognises the tv straight away!
Currys also have the sony at 350. (if they have stock!!!)

If you do want to buy from Sainsbury's then hurry up as all stock across the country is almost gone.

the fact is that none of the abovementioned tv's will compare with the 32w , they will do the job but not just as good
