Yes, second bike is going back to the dealer and I am getting the uber new one in March. Third time lucky? I hope so.:D
I must say : a massive thank you to the Dealer/Service manager and BMW UK . :thumby:

Bloody hell....what was wrong this time....did all the paint fall off or something?

Im shitting bricks i hope i dont have issues as others, my 2nd bike has only done 1 mile since it arrived in November.

What's been the issues with your second bikes !

Well my has done a few more at 650 miles since it arrived in late November, run in and had first service and ready for the new season :D

No issues at all so far but then I went for a Basic one

Come on, spill the beans!:rob

My problem was the clutch drag 1st,2,3&4th was getting worse . Usual fixes , didn't work . Finally decision time : wait for the fix ( new design clutch ) or reject the bike ... and the rest is history . BM made me an offer I could't refuse:cool:

Second one was a 2013 model, yours is a 2014 . I am told the 2014 is a improvement so it should be ok. But... The clutch design is the same as on the 2013 model:blast

As far I am concerned as a Beta tester ,BM should pay me for this R&D :D

Glad you got sorted

2 down

Bring on the 3rd bike:clap

Sorry to hear that you've been really unlucky

Engineer's bike has been perfect, he says........................so it seems BMW can get it right

Mine has been identical to the first bike and to zoltans. Clutch drag. There has allegedly been and acknowledgement by BMW techs that there is a design issue with the clutch but I am not about to wait months upon months for something to make its way to production.

My second bike is a 2014 model. Same issues.

I have a 2014 loan bike reg Feb 1st with 38 miles on delivery.

The front engine casting which hides the clutch is different to my GS WC which indicates something has changed .

The loan bike has no gear clashing, changes are perfect up and down and at high revs. Neutral is easy from 1st..........in other words it behaves. Maybe a little notchy but that is already easing after 300 miles.

My bike is returned tomorrow with new engine, box, clutch and other bits.......I hope it is a 2014 unit......ahhhhhhhhhh

I took mine out on Sunday for the first time since it was delivered on 20th December. The clutch, and gearchanges were very smooth. No issues getting into neutral. No clunk into first. And the heated grips felt warmer than the last one.:beerjug:

Nutty, is yours the one with the revised engine castings?

Wait until they change the oil at 600 mile 1st service, that's when it changed for most people if you read the gearchange thread
