As opposed to just switching off the camera alert function as you wait at passport control?
Updated my software a week ago (syncing with new netbook) and so far, fingers crossed, it hasn't hung once. Yet.
Didn't spot which version it was.

Yes, something like that...
My old 550, and the 660 gave a 'bonging' sound when driving through those signs that warned of 'safety cameras' (I turned it off), there's a lot along the A14, but I've rarely seen a camera.

and did a test run on a road through France, and I still get the usual warnings. When downloading the EU database you get the option to download or not the French and Swiss cameras. On their site they say they're looking into changing the French site to dangerous zones areas iaw the new law.
