Hi all, going though the joyous experience of repairing my bike after an attempted theft. Bike is a '23 GSA.

There's a disconnected 4 pin plug located near the rear of the under tray, underneath the pillion seat and rear rack cover etc. Its flat, if that makes sense i.e. all pins are in a line, its the male end wire colours blue, black, red and orange. I'm trying to work out what this plug is for (if anything). There's no blank for it (that I have any more at least).

Can't work out if it should have a blank on, and is unused on my bike or if they've ripped something out and discarded it whilst "hot wiring".

Hope someone can help! Oh and I can't work out how to post a picture, happy to take suggestions for that too 🤣

A picture would help, but I think its the connector for the old type RCD module before it was replaced by the combined one within the keyless module.

Just worked out how to post pictures ;-)20241009_172753.jpg

Oooh no, I don't recognise that. doesn't look like OEM to me. Could it be connection for an aftermarket heated seat or something?

That's what's stumped me, it doesn't look like an oem plug, but the wiring seems to go into the oem loom.

I can't recall seeing it when I fitted the weiser lights a few months back but maybe it was tucked away, or had a blank on.

The thieves definitely didn't install it, but may have used it I guess. I've had the bike on and running and managed to clear all the error messages so I guess it can't be that important 🤷🏻‍♂️

Have you had it from new?

My 23 GSA doesn't have it, but I don't have heated seats.

Tomorrow, I'll have a look to see what mine looks like where that is.

No I'm second owner, first was a BMW UK employee so no aftermarket stuff on it when I bought it, as I think it was part of the employee discount scheme.

Have you tried a Google image search?

Tracker maybe.

Yer tried that, got something close but just a lot of results of pictures of every imaginable bike's under seat wiring!

Is it just the end of the CANbus and there should be a terminator on it?
This is kind of what I'm leaning towards and that the blank on the end has been discarded. I just can't seem to find anything online that shows the same connector, blanked or not.

So I got in contact with Steve at "A Bike Thing" given their knowledge of the GS's electrical systems and he responded as below.

That plugs into the alarm module. It’s sometimes attached to the underside of the tray you just took off.

Which makes sense to me, it's where the alarm module would sit if mine had one fitted, and I'm hoping to go home and find a blanking socket on the underside of the silver pillion seat tray, if not I'm missing a blanking socket but that's nothing a little bag and some well installed tape can't deal with.

Thanks all for the help 🙏
