I have a new 64 plate GSA TE and alreday the paint just up from the supposed heal guards has worn through to the bare metal,I dont wear crosser style boots I use alpinestars smx4's and bmw rallye trousers over the top down to my ankles, this I might expect after a couple of years or hard ridding with mx boots but after just 40 days of ownership and just going to and from work etc wtf!!! The heal guards are just shit bendy plastic and all this on the worlds greatest adventure bike...??? I love the bike dont get me wrong but this is poor...! My 10yr old gsa 1150 hasnt even worn in the same place after 10yrs!.. warannty claim..?

thanks rob

HEEL guards....:rob

Then there's riding...warranty....plus assorted capitals and apostrophes :augie

This is more constructive than you may think,as it'll help with your email of complaint being taken more seriously. :D

I'll make sure I take all this on board when its returned tomorrow, tho I think I'll be making it very clear what will be happening about it all my spelling and grammar wont be an issue!

Water based paint. You wait for when they put the salt on the roads.

Even the engine paint is water based. Apparently they are considering powder coating the engines instead of water based paint especially with the problems with the salt we use in the UK.

"The heal guards are just shit bendy plastic" you sure as mine are metal:rolleyes:

Upto 2014 heel guards are silver cast - the 2015 bikes are black plastic, i noted these the other day !! Thinking they won't last long.

yep! Black plastic bendy shite..... :-( that don't even deflect your heels from the frame !

It shouldn'ut be necessarpyo,

WTF has happened to my klboaerd!!!

Helicopter tape

EDIT...sorry about that, my KB went bananas

Do a search for Helicopter tape.......only get the decent stuff, probably 3m, but watch a YT vid of how bloody good it is :)

Already bought my helicopter tape ready for delivery! Rob you got a picture?

I'm not bothered about heel guards ding mainly for the frame bits that get rubbed.

I'm at work at the mo but I'll get some first thing before I take it to the dealers, as for taping it up good idea but just seems a copout on a brand new bike, the heel guards are useless they're about the same size as the ones on an s1000rr, I saw a gsa at bury hill on Sunday it had a set of three way frame guards I'm prepared to buy a set but not before the sub frames replaced, I'm not taping up or covering with guards something that'll just rust and get worse,

Sell it ... it's already past its sell by date :blast

Stick to the 1150 :thumb

Having experienced the paint wearing through on my old bike the first thing i put on my new one were the frame protectors !!

But if you ride your bike, do the mileage, the worn off paint, the shiny metal, doesn't go rusty :nenau

In the 100,000+ mile club we call it 'p a t i n a' or 'p r o v e n a n c e' :D

Yep, I put them on mine before I rode it for the first time :thumb
