4th Dimension - no escape

Just to recap, long story short (2024 R1300GS) my accident was 03/07/25, bike initially to BMW dealer, Hastings insisted it went to 4th D then the 3rd party insurance (Admiral) accepted 100% liability and moved it back to the BMW dealer for work.
For reasons I won’t go into I couldn’t collect it from the BMW dealer until 27/10/25, hadn’t seen it since 03/07/25.
Noticed the left pannier was not present, 4th D hadn’t handed it back when the bike was collected from them. The panniers were new in April 25, having waited a year and left pannier was 100% as new without a single mark or scuff.
This is how they returned it on Saturday.
Needless to say I refused it and am claiming a new replacement.

If it was not damaged in the accident and was not damaged whilst at the BMW dealer then 4th Dimension or their recovery agent must be responsible.
Are you sure it is your pannier or have 4th Dimension used yours on another repair job ?
Very probable and similar issues have been reported by others
If they do not play ball and pay up, I would get a statement from the dealer who initially had the bike to say it was undamaged when 4th Dimension picked it up and take them to the small claims court

They’ve very promptly admitted full responsibility and agreed a full payment of £470 so I can order a new one, though it astounds me how their stores staff can treat other peoples property like this. It was absolutely pristine when it went to them.
My bike also got additional damage during its time with them but luckily got covered under the claim. It acquired a large deep scratch in the beak/nose cone.

Additional damage or just as likely they swapped the good parts off your bike to repair another bike and then put the damaged ones on yours

4th Dimension sell all there stuff or should I say customers stuff on ebay under a different business name, it’s only when you look at the sellers details you become aware whom they are.

What’s their eBay business name ?

A few years ago a customers bike got knocked over while parked. Very very minimal damage, mainly scratches, broken wing mirror etc.
It got taken to 4D and was given a huge repair estimate. My customer told me, and I said get it out of there and bring it to me.
I gave his insurance company an estimate for a fraction of the 4thD estimate.
His insurance company (or rather the 3rd party who knocked the bike over company) sent around an assessor to check the bike as there was such a huge difference between mine and 4thD estimate.
He told me I had to increase my estimate to help process the claim . ..

Having read this thread I have checked the terms of our policy (cies)

We HAVE to use one off their approved repairer list, or AN ADDITIONAL £250 excess is payable. They have factored in the threat as part of the policy conditions wording....

If it’s a no fault claim the 3rd party insurance will cover the excess,
